BAYARD ADVOCATE - Thursday, April 20th, 1916 - Mrs. Elizabeth Honold died, at the home of her son Matt Honold north of town Monday. She was in her eighty-third year. Mrs. Honold was born in Prussia and did not come to this country until after all her children were born, or until she was forty-six years of age. The funeral services were held Wednesday p.m. We expect an obituary for our next issue. BAYARD ADVOCATE - Thursday, April 27th, 1916 - Elizabeth Honold, nee Krause. was born at Steinheim, Wuerttemberg, Germany the 22 day of October in 1833. In 1858 she was united in marriage to Henry Honold. In 1886 the family emigrated to America, and after a three years stay at Niles, Oak Co, IL., came to Greene Co., Iowa. The married life of the departed was blessed by God with nine boys, of whom there are five living: Siglsmund of Niles, IL.; Jacob of Greene County; Frederick of Franklin Co.; Matthaeus of Green County; and Henry of Niles, 1L. Her husband died September 24, 1915. She resided in her last years with her son Mattheus and had always enjoyed good health until about two weeks ago, when she suffered with erysipelas. Her end come last Monday at 1 p.m. She had reached the age of 82 years, five months and twenty-five days, and is mourned by her five sons, four daughters-in-law, twelve grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends . When I shall reach the heavenly land. The funeral was Wednesday the 10th, conducted by her pastor, B. Schwanfelder of the Lutheran church and she was laid to rest at the Willow cemetery.
