Read More	Elizabeth Van Brocklin Called to Rest Mrs. Elizabeth Van Brocklin, who has been in failing health for the past three years, passed away at the home of her son, Fred, northwest of Creighton early Thursday morning. Elizabeth Krause was born in Baden, Germany, November 11, 1845. She came to the United States with her parents, when about twelve years of age, the family locating at Manitowec, Wis. In that city she was united in marriage to Daniel Van Brocklin on December 25, 1866. Mr. and Mrs. Van Brocklin came to Nebraska a few years later, living first in Saunders county and then moving to Knox county in 1878, where Mr. Van Brocklin took a homestead and where the family resided until 1904, when they moved to Creighton. It was on this same farm that Mrs. Van Brocklin spent the remaining years of her life. Mrs. Van Brocklin was the mother of eleven children, eight sons and three daughters. Two sons died in early childhood. The deceased, being a resident of Knox county for fifty-six years, was identified with much of the history of the Creighton community and her passing removes another one of our earlier residents. She has gone and though now at rest, the influence of her life is an inspiration to nobler living. Those who knew her best, loved her most. Devotion to her family, kindly deeds and thoughtful service for others are treasured memories of those who knew her. Mrs. Van Brocklin was a woman of kind and cheerful disposition, of true Christian character and held membership in the St. Ludger Catholic church. The nine children who mourn are: Victor of Silverton, Ore.; Henry, Creighton; Clark of Lethbridge, Canada; Henry of Creighton; Frank of Pierce, Will and Fred of Creighton; Mrs. Florence Blair of Creighton, Mrs. Elizaebeth Von Tersch of Omaha; Mrs. Flora Hartlieb of Creighton; one sister, Mrs. Mary Ladenberger of Columbia Falls, Mont.; one brother, Joe Krause of Fremont; twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Saturday morning at the St. Ludger Catholic church at 9:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father Windolph. The esteem this woman was held in this community was evidenced by the large assemblage of friends in attendance at the last rites. They had come to pay a last tribute to a departed friend and neighbor. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery beside her husband, who preceded her in death in December 1909.
