Description	:	Elizabeth Sheel, daughter of William and Elizabeth McCluskey, was born December 5, 1864, in Rutherglenn, Scotland, and departed this life at her home in Moline, Kansas, on March 5, 1954, at the age of 89 years, and 3 months. Read More	Elizabeth Sheel, daughter of William and Elizabeth McCluskey, was born December 5, 1864, in Rutherglenn, Scotland, and departed this life at her home in Moline, Kansas, on March 5, 1954, at the age of 89 years, and 3 months. When a small child, she with her parents sailed from Scotland to the United State, later settling near New Albany, Kansas. As a child she attended the Presbyterian Church. On March 31, 1946 she and her husband joined the Methodist Church in Moline, Kansas. On February 25, 1891, she was united in marriage to Frank Sheel, at the home of her parents, near New Albany. They established their home on a farm near Moline, where they lived until moving to Moline in February, 1941. To this union six children were born, one son dying in infancy. The surviving children are; Ruth Durbin of Moline, Reka Stuckey of Nickerson, Kansas, Elmer and Emera of Moline, and Roy of La Junta, Colo. Mrs. Sheel loved her home, and was a devoted wife and mother, giving her entire life to interests of her husband, children and friends, always greeting them and her loved ones with a cheery smile and a friendly handclasp. She has left her earthly home, but her kindly deeds and loving acts will long be remembered. She loved flowers, and her home and garden were full of them. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Frank Sheel, and the five children before mentioned. One sister, Mary Jane Wadman of Kansas City, Missouri, four brothers; Will McCluskey of Greeley, Colorado, Charley McCluskey of Severy, Kansas, John McCluskey of New Albany and Tom McCluskey of Fredonia, Kansas. Seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She always leaned to watch for us, Anxious if we were late. In winter by the window, In summer by the gate. And though we mocked her tenderly, Who had such foolish care, The long way home would seem more safe, Because she waited there. Her thoughts were also full of us, She never could forget, And so I think that where she is She must be watching yet. Waiting till we come home to her, Anxious if we are late-- Watching from heaven's window. Leaning from heaven's gate. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Moline, Sunday March 7, 1954 at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev O. W. Dewey. A quarter consisting of Ann Ames, Georgiana Monninger, Juanita Miller and Darlene Bruner sang two hymns; Face to Face, and Beyond the Sunset, accompanied by Elwinnie Tucker. Casket bearers were six grandsons, Ed and Mahlon Durbin, Dale and J. Stuckey, Eldon and Harold Sheel. Burial was made in the Moline Cemetery. Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral of Mrs. Frank Sheel were; Mrs. Reka Stuckey and J.
