Description	:	Frank Sheel, son of Frederick and Reka Sheel was born June 13, 1868 in Strausburg, Germany. He departed this life at his home in Moline, Kansas on July 30, 1955 at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 17 days. When an infant he came with his parents to the United States and settled near Thayer, Kansas. The family later came to Elk county and lived on a farm north of Moline where he grew to manhood. Read More	Frank Sheel, son of Frederick and Reka Sheel was born June 13, 1868 in Strausburg, Germany. He departed this life at his home in Moline, Kansas on July 30, 1955 at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 17 days. When an infant he came with his parents to the United States and settled near Thayer, Kansas. The family later came to Elk county and lived on a farm north of Moline where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth McCluskey on February 25, 1891. They established their home on a farm near Moline, where they lived until moving to Moline in February 1941. ( Insert: While living in Neosho County the family had known The McCluskey family who had migrated from Scotland and had moved to Wilson, County, KS about the same time the Sheels had moved to Elk county. Young Frank journeyed back to New Albany, Wison, Co. and brought Elizabeth McCluskey home as his bride.) Mrs. Sheel preceded him in death on March 5, 1954. To this union six children were born, one son dying in infancy. The surviving children are Reka Stuckey of Hutchinson, Kansas, Roy of LaJunta, Colorado, Ruth Durbin, Elmer and Emera of Moline. He united with the Methodist church in Moline on March 31, 1946. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father, giving his entire life to interests of his family and community. He leaves to mourn his departure his five children, one brother, Henry Sheel of Chanute, Kansas, two sisters, Mrs. Almanda Adams of Boulder, Colorado and Mrs. Lillie Fickle on Manhattan, Kansas, seventeen grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on August 1, 1955 at 10 A. M. in the Watt Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. O. W. Dewey of the Methodist Church. A ladies' quarter composed of Mrs. Darlene Bruner, Mrs. Juanita Miller, Mrs. Ann Ames and Mrs. Georgianna Monninger accompanied by Mrs. Elwinnie Tucker sang two hymns. Pall bearers were six grandsons; Dale and J. B. Stuckey, Mahlon and Ed Durbin, Harold and Eldon Sheel. Burial was mae in the Moline Cemetery. Out of town relatives attending the funeral of Frank Sheel were Mrs. Reka Stuckey, Mr. and Mrs. Van Sturgeon and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Mosier, Hutchinson; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sheel and Kay, La Junta, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stuckey, Nickerson; Mrs. Glen Coble and Van Gordon, Severy; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Durbin and children, Mr. and Mrs. Elgie Fickle, Howard; Mr, and Mrs. Henry Sheel, Chanute; Mr. and Mrs. Tom McCluskey, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Ward, Mr. and Mrs. James Tindle and children, Fredonia; Mrs. John McCluskey, New Albany; Mr. and Mrs. Lee McCluskey, Wichita; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beu, Collinsville, Oklahoma, Mrs. Rhudy Schult, Eureka.
