'''''''''''' Ulysses Dispatch (Ulysses, Nebr.), January 23, 1930, p. 1, col. 6 OBITUARY Elizabeth Morrissey was born at Waukegan, Illinois, and passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. James Foster, in Ulysses, Nebraska, on Tuesday, January 14, 1930, aged 69 years, 2 months and 9 days. She leaves to mourn her going, 3 children: Mrs. Anna Walsh; Mrs. May Foster and Thomas Moore, all of whom are residents of near Ulysses. A son and two daughters having preceded her many years ago while her husband the late James Moore died fourteen years ago. There are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Murphy and Mrs. Katie Scofield of Chicago, also two brothers, Joe Morrisey of Waukegan, Illinois, and Billy Morrisey of Topeka, Kansas, together with 15 grand-children and 1 great grandchild. Deceased was married to James Moore in Waukegan and they came to Nebraska about 47 years ago, her husband engaging in agricultural pursuits throughout the years. He retired many years ago when they purchased a home in Seward where they enjoyed the fruits of their labor until death called the husband and father, since then Mrs. Moore had lived alone until being in poor health for some time past she came to Ulysses in September to stay at the home of her daughter Mrs. James Foster, who with her family ministered to her every need kindly, and faithfully. Mrs. Moore suffered from complications of ailments. Her going was quite sudden. Dr. Stanard had been hastily summoned but she was gone ere he reached the home. Mrs. Moore was dearly loved by all who knew her. Hers was a splendid character, kind, charitable in word and deed, a loving wife and mother, a loyal friend and practical Catholic. Her presence will be greatly missed at both Seward and Ulysses. The heartfelt sympathy of their many friends goes out to the bereaved loved ones. Her funeral services were held Thursday morning Jan. 16, at St. Mary's church in Ulysses, Fred Helmsdoerfer of Lincoln being the mortician in charge. Rev. Father Loughran celebrated a Requiem High Mass for the repose of her soul. Many old friends were present to pay the last respect. The pall-bearers were her grand-children. Interment took place in the St. Mary's cemetery near Ulysses. "Eternal Rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may light perpetual shine upon her."
