Description	:	Elizabeth "Lizzie" Woolliscroft was born 12/2/1845 in Fulford, Staffordshire, England. She was the fourth child in a family of nine born to William Bentley & Hannah (Buxton) Woolliscroft. She came to the United States with her parents in 1851. They made the voyage in a sailboat and were nine weeks, two days on the Atlantic. Elizabeth married John Sim Edgar 9/19/1867 in Beloit, Rock County, WI. She came to the United States with her parents in 1851. They made the voyage in a sailboat and were nine weeks, two days on the Atlantic. Elizabeth married John Sim Edgar 9/19/1867 in Beloit, Rock County, WI. During the next year she accompanied her husband with their oldest child to Iowa, settling on a farm near Mitchell, Mitchell County, IA. In 1876 the family again moved to a farm near Grafton in Worth County, IA. Ten years later they moved to Rock Falls where they raised their family and resided the remainder of their lives. Lizzie was a homemaker. She was too frail to do outside work but nevertheless was interested in all national and world problems. She was known to be very cheerful, loyal and a wonderful person. One of the greatest pleasures in her life was a trip to the Imperial Valley with her husband and daughter, Nellie. They went to visit their son, Thomas,and daughter, Annie Blakley. While there nine of the Woolliscroft brothers and sisters had a reunion with numerous other relatives. Elizabeth talked about the great time everyone enjoyed. She died in Rock Falls,IA on 11/15/1914.
