Betty was born on July 2, 1925, on a family farm near Norfolk, the daughter of William and Dorothea (Watson) Morris. She graduated from Norfolk High School and Norfolk Junior College, then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. On May 23, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Edwin Nunnally. They lived in Bellevue for 29 years, moving to Sutherland in 1977, and making Grand Island their home in 1991. She taught elementary school in Monroe for four years and was a para professional in both Bellevue and Sutherland. Some of her memberships included the First Presbyterian Church, lifetime membership to the PTA the Esther Circle in Grand Island. She served as a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church in Sutherland, was a member of the Mariners and Friendship Club, served as president of the Extension Club in Sutherland and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dave (Vera) Nunnally of Mount Vernon, Wash., Sheryl (Steve) Champ of Loveland, Colo., Bob (Teri) Nunnally of Joplin, Mo., and John (Kay) Nunnally of Saginaw, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Genny Zohner of Battle Creek. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, in 2010; her parents; an infant brother and her sister, Lilly Sander.
