A lifelong resident of Lee County, Mrs. Kokjohn was born in Fort Madison Oct. 9, 1884. Her parents were Joseph and Mary Borgfechtal Poetting. She was married to Chris W. A lifelong resident of Lee County, Mrs. Kokjohn was born in Fort Madison Oct. 9, 1884. Her parents were Joseph and Mary Borgfechtal Poetting. She was married to Chris W. Kokjohn on April 29, 1907 in Fort Madison. He preceded her in death. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Alter and Rosary Society. Surviving her are four sons, Milton and Dr. Alfred Kokjohn, both of Fort Madison; Walter of Sioux City, Dr. Kenneth Kokjohn of Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Bernice) Bendlage, Fort Madison; a brother, Ben Poetting, and a sister, Mrs. O. N. Coulson, both of Fort Madison; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her parents, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Joseph P. Hines officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The body is at the Nieters Funeral Home. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday by the Altar and Rosary Society followed by a parish Christian Wake service at 7:30.
