Read More	Elizabeth May "Betty May" Ronin Johnsen Price was born ca 1909 in Nebraska, and was the daughter of Jay Ronin and Elizabeth Price. In 1910, Eizabeth appears with her birth family in Fremont, Dodge, Nebraska. In this census, her mother, Elizabeth, appears as Bessie. In addition to an older brother, Nicholas, Elizabeth had a younger sister, Kathryn; the latter who was not even three months old at the time of their mother's passing in May of 1911. In 1920, Nicholas, Elizabeth, and Kathryn (Catherine) were enumerated in the home of their parental grandparents, Nicholas and Catherine Ronin, in Platte, Dodge, Nebraska. By 1930, Nicholas was no longer present in the home of his grandparents with only the two girls remaining; Elizabeth now being listed in this record as Betty M. "Betty May" and Harold Johnsen (b ca 1915 in Nebraska) were married ca 1935. In 1940, the couple was residing in Council Bluffs, Pottawatomie, Iowa with a daughter, who was also identified as Betty May. Their last residence prior to the 1940 census was Omaha. Daughter, Elizabeth May Johnsen, who was the daughter mentioned above, is # 59967307 and is interred near her great grandparents, Nicholas and Catherine Ronin. Her birth location in the 1940 census was in Colorado, and I do believe the family may have been residing in Colorado at one time. However, her death certificate lists her place of birth as Nebraska. Daughter, Elizabeth, was suffering from scleroderma, which was diagnosed 8 years prior to her death. Symptoms include tightening of the skin, joint pain, exaggerated response to cold (Raynaud's disease), and heartburn. The family relocated to Arizona only 2 months prior to her death, and I feel they may have done so because they believed the warmer climate would be of benefit to their daughter. Harold and Betty also had a son, Robert L. Johnsen, b 1941 in Iowa and d 1961 in Arizona. Robert Johnsen, Elizabeth Johnsen, and Nicholas and Catherine Ronin are interred in the same grouping in Section 3 (pg 21 in the cemetery transcript). Nicholas and Catherine were Elizabeth and Robert's maternal great-grandparents. Harold and Betty had at least one other child. It appears that at some time, Harold and Betty were divorced, or Harold passed away, after which Betty married surname Price. I have yet to identify his given name. Not sure this is Betty's first husband; JOHNSEN, HAROLD was born 21 January 1915, received Social Security number 521-09-0093 (indicating Colorado) and, Death Master File says, died April 1970, # 149506241, bd Mesa, Maricela, Arizona. Mesa is consistent with the family's location at the time of their daughter's death. Not sure this is her: JOHNSEN, ELIZABETH was born 05 May 1909, received Social Security number XXX-XX-9795 (indicating Colorado) and, Death Master File says, died 15 February 1996 NOTE: These Price / Ronin family members are located together in the cemetery. No dates present for the Price family.
