At the age of 7 years, she came with her parents to this country and settled in Winona, Illinois. On January 13, 1881, she was united in marriage to Mr. James Darrah. To this union there were born children; John, Catherine, Claude, Charles, Martha, Bertha, Mary, Mabel, James, Helen and Andrew, who preceded her in death when four years old. Mrs. Darrah passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska, April 9, 1930, at the age of 69 years and 2 days. In 1883 they moved to Sutton, Nebraska, and later settled on a farm near Ong, Nebraska. eleven years ago, her husband preceded her in death after which they moved to Edgar, Nebraska. She united with the Presbyterian Church of Winona, Illinois, when quite young and on April 15, 1923, she united with the Presbyterian Church at Edgar, and was a faithful member until her death She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge at Edgar. Besides her children, she leaves to mourn her loss, 16 grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers; one sister and two brothers having preceded her in death. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church of Edgar, at 2 p.m, Friday, April 11, Rev T. S. Hughes officiating. Music was furnished by the Presbyterian male quartet. The floral offering were many and beautiful and the church was filled to the capacity which spoke of the high esteem in which the departed was held by her any friends. The pall bearers were the four sons and two sons-in-law, Leonard Sponsler and Harry Wilson. She was laid to rest in the Edgar Cemetery. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were; Mr. James Mooney of Nemaha, Iowa; Mr. Will Mooney of Sac City, Iowa; Mrs. Dee Patrie, Mrs. B. B. Barber and son of Homer, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Anderson and Jed Warden of Odebolt, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sponsler and family of Hebron, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Darrah of Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Catherine Nelson of Lindsborg, Kansas; Mrs. C. B. Northrop of McFadden, Wyoming; Mr. Chas Darrah of Lodge Pole, Nebr.; James Darrah of Hastings, Nebr,; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilson of Grand Island; Miss Mary Darrah of Lincoln and Miss Helen Darrah of Grand Island.
