Description	:	---Elizabeth Nye came to the United States when a young girl of thirteen years of age, landed with her patents in New york City, whence they preceeded to White County, Ohio, where, in due time, her future husband, Tillman Warren, made her aquaintance, and they were married on the 21st of September, 1837. Tillman Warren at once engaged in farming in Pike County, Ohio, until 1844, and then decided to seek his fortunes beyond the Mississippi. Tillman Warren at once engaged in farming in Pike County, Ohio, until 1844, and then decided to seek his fortunes beyond the Mississippi. Moving to Wapello county, Iowa he purchased ninety-three acres of unimproved land, upon which he located, and at once began its cultivation. He was prospered in his undertakings, but only lived to labor for his family until 1855, when he was taken from the family who had ever regarded him with the highest respect and affection. ---Elizabeth, with her husband, united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, and was his faithful helper in the useful projects which he set on foot for the good of his church and community. Their household included eight children, as follows: Mary J., the eldest, died in infancy; Richard L. enlisted as a soldier of the Union during the late war, in the 36th Iowa Infantry, and died in the hospital, at Helena, Ark.; William is clerk in a store at Eldon; Rhoda became the wife of A.W. Clark, a farmer of Cass Township; John A., is farming in Polk Township; Silas was the next in order of birth; Catharine married Albert Conwell, a highly respected farmer of Cass Township; George L. was born on the 5th of January 1855, and is a butcher by trade. The living children of this family are all confortably settled in good homes, and are usefull members of the community.
