Description	:	Elizabeth, wife of Edward T. Hopping of Red Bank, died of vertigo yesterday, aged 77 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hopping make their home with their son, William A. Hopping of Broad street. Mrs. Hopping had been in her usual health until the day before her death. On Monday morning she took breakfast with her son but Mr. Hopping noticed that she looked pale and did not eat much. After breakfast he assisted her to her room and later a doctor was called. She was beyond medical assistance, however, and gradually grew weaker until she died. Her husband was taken sick... Read More	Elizabeth, wife of Edward T. Hopping of Red Bank, died of vertigo yesterday, aged 77 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hopping make their home with their son, William A. Hopping of Broad street. Mrs. Hopping had been in her usual health until the day before her death. On Monday morning she took breakfast with her son but Mr. Hopping noticed that she looked pale and did not eat much. After breakfast he assisted her to her room and later a doctor was called. She was beyond medical assistance, however, and gradually grew weaker until she died. Her husband was taken sick with the grip about three weeks ago and he is in a precarious condition. He has not yet been told of his wife's death.Mrs. Hopping was the eldest daughter of Ann and William Applegate. She was born at the home of her grandfather, ex-Judge John Patterson, in Middletown township, now occupied by Sheriff John H. Patterson. Mrs. Hopping was the grand-daughter of John Stillwell, a commissary in the Revolutionary war. She had been a resident of Middletown township nearly all her life and she and her son, William A. Hopping, had always lived together with the exception of a few years when Mr. Hopping was away from home. Mrs. Hopping was married December 28th, 1851. Mrs. Hopping was the mother of two sons, the one with whom she lived, and Edward J. Hopping of Chapel Hill, who died about twelve years ago. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at half-past two o'clock at her late residence. Rev. William B. Matteson will officiate and the body will be buried in Fair View cemetery. The pall bearers will be John S. Applegate, John H. Patterson, William A. Truex, John King, Charles B. Parsons and Isaac H. Adlem.Aged 77 years, 6 months and 13 days.
