She was born on March 18, 1919, near Beatrice, Neb., to Frank P. and Agatha (Thimm) Penner. Read More	Elizabeth Reimer, 88 years of age, of Beatrice, Neb., passed away at the Parkview Center in Beatrice on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 6, 2007. She was born on March 18, 1919, near Beatrice, Neb., to Frank P. and Agatha (Thimm) Penner. She was a 1938 graduate of Beatrice High School in Beatrice and a graduate of Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, Neb. She was a teacher in rural school in the DeWitt and Pickrell, Neb., areas from 1938-1942. She and Alvin L. Reimer were married on June 9, 1956, at the First Mennonite Church, rural Beatrice, and they lived on a farm west of Beatrice until moving into Beatrice in 1971. She was employed either full or part-time at the former Mennonite Hospital and at the Beatrice Community Hospital for 41 years before she retired in 1993. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, rural Beatrice, and had been a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and involved in the Ladies Aid at the church. She was a past member of the Beatrice Community Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, and entertaining her family and friends. Survivors include brother Frank W. Penner, sister, Margaret Boyce and her husband Bill, all of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Lillie Reimer of Beatrice; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank P. and Agatha (Thimm) Penner; husband, Alvin L. Reimer (1977); daughter, Jane Elizabeth Reimer (1965); brother, Alfred T. Penner; and sister-in -law, Louise Penner. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at the First Mennonite Church, west of Beatrice, Neb., with the Rev. Weldon Schloneger officiating. Interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at the Mennonite Cemetery, rural Beatrice. The body will lie in state Sunday from noon-9 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, Sixth and Washington streets, Beatrice. The body will not lie in state at the church on Monday. A family prayer service will be held at 1:15 p.m. Monday at the church. A memorial has been established to the Parkview Center Activities Fund and the Mennonite Cemetery Fund with Bill Goossen and Louis Esau in charge.
