Description	:	Mrs. Elizabeth DeMott died in this city Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. E. Elick, with whom she made her home for twenty years. Miss Elizabeth Post was born in New Jersey on February 9, 1820 and was first married to Peter V. Melick. To this union two sons and two daughters were born and both sons were in the Civil War, one dying in Andersonville Prison and the other now lives in New Jersey. Read More	Mrs. Elizabeth DeMott died in this city Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. E. Elick, with whom she made her home for twenty years. Miss Elizabeth Post was born in New Jersey on February 9, 1820 and was first married to Peter V. Melick. To this union two sons and two daughters were born and both sons were in the Civil War, one dying in Andersonville Prison and the other now lives in New Jersey. One daughter has also passed away and the other is a resident of this city as mentioned above. Some years after the death of her first husband, Mrs. Melick was married to Peter DeMott, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. DeMott was, in her early life a member of the Dutch Reform Church, but when she came to Villisca united by letter with Presbyterian Church. She was a Christian from childhood, was always thoughtful of others, and died with faith and a firm hope. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church, Tuesday afternoon and the remains buried in the city cemetery.
