Elizabeth Rinker was born in Wurtemberg, Germany on April 11, 1951. At the age of two years she came to America with her parents and settled near Grand Ridge in Illinois. Here she grew up to young womanhood and in 1871 was united in marriage with Christian Horn. To this union was born one child, a daughter, now Mrs. George Doenges of Papillion (Ne.). Two years from the time of her marriage, Mrs. Horn was left a widow, and seven years later she was united in marriage with Philip Seibold, and came with her husband to Papillion, Nebraska in the same year, where she has made her home ever since. To this marriage was born two daughters, Mrs. Edward Schmidt of near Springfield, Nebraska, and Mrs. R. E. Bonham of Papillion. In 1913, Mrs. Siebold was again left a widow by the death of her husband who passed away on July 2, of that year. She had never enjoyed rugged health, but about two years ago she began to fail perceptibly, and although she insisted on living by herself in her own home, the time came a few months ago when it became necessary that she be with those who could care for her and see that her needs were supplied, and she was persuaded to come to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bonham, where she lived until the time of her death, which came on the morning of November 12, at 12:30. Very shortly after coming to Nebraska, Mrs. Seibold united with the St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church and remained a loyal member ever since. Owing to poor health she was never able to carry the work of a vigorous church member, and during the last several years she had scarcely been able to attend public worship at all. She was a devoted mother and the welfare of her children was always her chief concern. She is survived by her son, P.L. Seibold of Kansas City, Mo., and by three daughters, Mrs. George Doenges of near Papillion, Mrs. Edward Schmidt of near Springfield, Ne., and Mrs. R. E. Bonham of Papillion and by three brothers, William Rinker of Great Bend, Kansas, Henry Rinker of Papillion, and Christian Rinker of Grand Ridge, Illinois, and one sister, Mrs. C. W. Schobert of Papillion, and by fifteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Methodist Church, Rev. J. H. Hall, the pastor officiated. Interment was in Cedar Dale Cemetery. - - - Lizzie Rinker 1st married Christian Wm. Horn in La Salle Co., Illinois on Feb 12, 1872 (La Salle Co., Ill., marriage record #1237) and then after Christian's death on 4 Apr 1874 she later married Philip Seibold after his 1st wife, Amelia, died. Phillip Seibold and Elizabeth Rinker were married in Grand Ridge, Illinois, on 30 Oct 1881. Bertha Horn, the daughter of Lizzie and Christian Horn moved to Papillion with her mother and step-father and there she married George Doenges. At present there is no recorded grave site for Christian Wm. Horn who died in Ottawa Illinois on 4 Apr 1874. He could have been buried in Ottawa or some where in the Grand Ridge, Ill., area. Christian Horn was a carpet weaver at the time of his death and had a shop in Ottawa, Illinois, on Main st., near the Kneusal's Drug store. His cause of death was creosote poisoning. He was said to been a quiet and industrious man with a temperate disposition and had been an upright citizen. His age of birth as well as any record of him has been difficult to find and he may have immigrated from Germany around 1870 as no Census record can be found at that time (at present), nor has any information on his parents been found. - - Bio provided by Find A Grave contributor Wm & SJ.
