Description	:	Ella Rose (Kozel) Cronin was the first born of four daughters to Louis Frank Kozel and Anna Theresa (Kostal) Kozel. She was the last baby born to the family in what was called the Rock House -- a dwelling located on the Kozel farm land with walls each several feet thick and an earthen floor. Although not in use for many years, we believe... Read More	Ella Rose (Kozel) Cronin was the first born of four daughters to Louis Frank Kozel and Anna Theresa (Kostal) Kozel. She was the last baby born to the family in what was called the Rock House -- a dwelling located on the Kozel farm land with walls each several feet thick and an earthen floor. From there her parents built and moved into a lovely home built on the same farm. It was a lovely structure with four bedrooms upstairs, one for each of the children, and wired for electricity. Although not in use for many years, we believe this structure stands yet today. Ella's father, Louis Frank Kozel, passed away suddenly in 1927. He may have suffered an injury in a plough accident, and had been rushed to the medical center in Rochester by a couple of his brothers. There he underwent surgery, and survived for a short while after that, but probably succumbed to inflammation caused by a surgical infection. His wife traveled by train to retrieve Louis' body, and returned home with him for burial. Anna remained at the family home she and Louis built together, and farmed the land successfully. She raised her four daughters there, and never remarried. Ella Rose and her sisters grew up to be beautiful young women, greatly loved by their mother -- and each becoming a mother and later a grandmother herself. My Grandma Ella Rose was so very much loved. She was devoted to her family, and her family also to her. Ella Rose and her husband, James Jeremiah "Jim" Cronin, were married in 1940, and celebrated the births of four children -- a daughter, a son, and fraternal twins (one boy and one girl). The couple is buried next to Anna Theresa (Kostal) Kozel and Louis Frank Kozel, although no Find a Grave Memorial yet exists for Anna and Louis. She is survived by her four children, two sons and two daughters, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
