Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Clarence Beckley officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where the rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. She was born... She was born on Oct. 26, 1913, in rural Wyoming, daughter of Jacob and Cecelia (Sterbenz) Stanisha. She married Victor M. Banowetz on Aug. 4, 1937, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa; he preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1999. Elizabeth farmed with her husband in Jackson County for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa. She also was a volunteer at Jackson County Public Hospital and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Surviving are two daughters, Madonna (Bob) Bormann, of Monticello, and Geraldine (Tom) Hoyt, of Eagle Grove; two sons, Delbert (Peggy) Banowetz, of Dubuque, and Mike Banowetz, of Maquoketa; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and a brother.
