King. She was a lifelong resident of South Dartmouth, born on November 7, 1925 to Nathan E. and Flora L. Read More	DARTMOUTH ~ Elizabeth W. ‘Betty’ (Tripp) King 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 5, 2018 at her home in Dartmouth Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew E. King. She was a lifelong resident of South Dartmouth, born on November 7, 1925 to Nathan E. and Flora L. (Wilkie) Tripp. An only daughter, with four brothers, she was affectionately known within the family as ‘Sis’. She attended Smith Neck Friends Meeting most of her life, was active in the meeting as a member of Friendly Circle, and put the beliefs of the Friends faith into daily practice. Growing up on Smith Neck, Betty loved swimming at Houghton’s Beach. She graduated from Dartmouth High School in 1943 during the uncertain times of World War II. As part of the country’s civil defense activities, she ‘spotted’ planes from a tower on Smith Neck. Following high school Betty graduated from Campbell Business School and worked in New Bedford at Personal Finance Co., until she married. Later in life she enjoyed working away from home again, in the business office of William T. King Lumber Co. In 1948, Betty married her life’s love Andrew E. King. They had nine children together before Andrew died in 1967 at age 41. Following his death, she lovingly devoted all her energy to raising their children. She experienced and shared much joy in her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren always brought an instant smile to her face. She was an avid reader, passing on a love of reading and learning to her children and grandchildren. Betty especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting, theatrical, and other extracurricular events . Betty is survived by seven of her children, James King and wife Kate of Fayette Maine, Joyce Rosinha of S. Dartmouth, Joan Aguiar and husband Dennis of Reedsville Wisconsin, Jeffrey King of S. Dartmouth, Jody King and husband Erich Reitenbach of Buxton Maine, John King of Phoenix Arizona, Jeremy King and wife Elisabeth of Marstons Mills Massachusetts; her grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her brother Walter Tripp and wife Janice, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Andrew, she was predeceased by two daughters Jane Trainor Schneider and Janice Ravari, her son-in-law Gilbert Rosinha, and three brothers Howard, Nathan Jr., and Albion Tripp. Betty will be fondly remembered for the faith, devotion, love and support she gave her family and for her captivating smile. ....Source: Southcoast Today; published July 21, 2018.
