Before her marriage she worked as a secretary in Des Moines and was a homemaker. She graduated from Kirkville High School and from a Des Moines business college. She was a member of Agency United Methodist Church. Survivors: a son, Stanley M. Steele of Ottumwa Route 7; a half-brother Carl Everett Funk of Washington, D.C. Her half-sisters Irene Funk [Smith] of Missouri and Opal Funk [Graber] [Cole] of Los Angeles pre-deceased her. Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home, the Revs. Gerald McGee of Agency United Methodist Church and James Kirby of North Court Baptist Church officiating. Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers: Walter and Robert Dimmitt, Millard Wymore, Dallas Cunningham, Shirley and Gene Steele.
