Michael passed away at about 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, July 15th, at the home in this city of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hamann. Mrs. Michael became the mother of a little daughter on June 27th, and her condition since that event was continuously such as to occasion grave alarm on the part of those who attended her. Despite all that could be done to bring her back to health she continued to fail, and on Sunday afternoon quietly passed away. Mrs. Michael, known as Ella Hamann was one of the well known and universally liked young women of this community, was born and brought up near Artois, and spent all her young life in this county. She was a graduate of the Orland high school, and was a teacher, being engaged in the Cherokee school at one time. She was in the bloom of youth, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 27 years, 10 months and 6 days. Besides the husband and little daughter, Georgenia Marian she leaves to mourn her loss the father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hamann, a sister, Mrs. Albert Spooner of Middleton; and three brothers, Lawrence, Walter and Hugh Hamann, all of Orland. A short funeral service will be held at 1:30 this afternoon from the Hamann residence, after which the remains will be taken to Artois, where services will be held in the Artois church, and interment will be made in the cemetery near that place. -Transcribed by M.
