Description	:	Ella Eliza, daughter of Orin Albert and Kezia Olive Chapman was born at Ottawa, Kansas, on the 31st of July, 1870, and departed this life for the land of eternal day, on the 11th day of December, 1939, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 10 days. Read More	Ella Eliza, daughter of Orin Albert and Kezia Olive Chapman was born at Ottawa, Kansas, on the 31st of July, 1870, and departed this life for the land of eternal day, on the 11th day of December, 1939, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 10 days. Her father was a pioneer preacher in the United Brethren Church pioneering for his Christ where ever his church might send him, and for this reason his family got to see much of Kansas in the early days when there were really trying times throughout the prairies of Kansas, but it was out of such homes that the real Kansas came, and men and women of sterling character such as Sister Dieffenbach, who have spent their lives in seeking to show men and women how to live worthy lives. Mrs. Dieffenbach was converted at the age of 11 years in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, and united with the United Brethren Church at Dighton, Kansas, of which she was a member until after her marriage when she transferred her membership to the Methodist Church of Ransom where she has been a most faithful and much beloved member until called by her Lord and Master to the Realm of Everlasting Day where she today is a member of the Church Triune, having given to the Church she so tenderly loved 46 years of service. She was also a member of the W.C.T. U. and as such will be greatly missed as she was ever a loving and guiding spirit in this organization and a fearless enemy of the liquor traffic, never fearing to speak her mind against this vile enemy of men. She was a life member and had served this organization well for over 46 years. On the 26th day of November, 1893, she was united in marriage to Mr. H.F. Dieffenbach and to this happy union two children were born, the little daughter, preceding her into the Glory World. She leaves to mourn her going, but not as those who have no hope, her loving companion, one son, Jess Lee, of Ransom, a step-son, Fred, of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Frank Chapman, of Netawaka, Kansas, 4 sisters, Mrs. Lottie Mathers, of Spokane, Washington; Mrs. T.L. Kerns of Kansas City, Kansas Mrs. Carrie Strickler, of Ransom, Kansas and Miss Minnie Chapman, of Kansas City, Kansas. One grandson, Gillen Dieffenbach, of Zion City, Ill., two granddaughters, Miss Verla Jean Dieffenbach of the home and Mrs. Kathleen Parsell of Houston, Texas; nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
