Her death was not unexpected and she was unconscious for about a week before the end came. Mrs. Gaston was a resident of Plymouth County and Le Mars for many years before going to Sioux City to live some fifteen years ago and had a wide circle of relatives and acquaintances. Her maiden name was Ella E. Morehead, and she was born at Savannah, Ill., March 23, 1867, and received her education and grew to young womanhood in her native place. With other members of the Morehead family she came to Plymouth County in 1887 and lived in Johnson Township. She was united in marriage with O. R. Gaston on July 4, 1888, the ceremony taking place in Le Mars. They lived on a farm for a brief period and then engaged in the conduct of a general store at Adaville for ten years. From Adaville they came to Le Mars which was then their business interests took them, Mr. Gaston representing a nationally known concern being promoted to a larger sphere of activities'. Mrs. Gaston since becoming a resident of Sioux City also kept in touch with Le Mars and its doings and possessed a many warm friends in Le Mars. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, O.R. Gaston; two daughters, Mrs. Joy B. Perry, of Le Mars and Mrs. J. H. Sanford, of Kansas City, Mo.; and three sisters and two brothers who are E.J. Stinton, of Lucas, S.D.; Mrs. Anna Greene, of Akron; Mrs. Ed Stinton, of Akron; L. L. Morehead, of Alberta, Minn., and H. B. Morehead, of Le Mars. The funeral services will be held, Wednesday afternoon, a the First Congregational Church (Le Mars) at 2:30, Rev. J. A. Hills, the pastor, officiating. The services at the grave side will be conducted by members of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Gaston was a devoted wife and mother, a generous spirited and helpful neighbor and enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew her. Akron Register Tribune Thursday, March 4, 1926 Akron Iowa
