Rhodes, was born in Ligravge [sic] County, Ind., Oct. 9, 1868 and died June 12, 1955, in Omaha at the age of 86. When a young girl she came with her parents to Cumberland, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Lucius B Lane in 1892. To this union four children were born, Bernard of Vernalis, Calif., William of Broderic, Calif., Mrs. Ruby Mattea of Omaha, with whom she made her home. One daughter, Mrs. Daisy Evison preceded her in death in 1927. She also leaves to mourn her death, one brother, Ora F. Rhodes of Cumberland, Iowa, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Rosary recitation was at John A. Gentleman’s Mortuary Monday evening. Funeral services were held June 14, at 9 o’clock at St. Cecelia’s Cathedral in Omaha with Father Parr officiating. Interment was in Calvary cemetery. Pall bearers were all nephews, Frank Pithovd, Les Vaughn, Glen Gerald and Merlyn Brown. Those attending from out of town were Ora Rhodes and Clyde Logue of Cumberland, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Dandon of St. Charles, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Brown, Merlyn Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Pollock, Ronald Avery of Atlantic, Iowa, Mrs. Gerald Avery of Manning, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Evison, Jr., Mrs. Staron Krantz and Randy, Mrs. Jesse Evison Sr. of Grand Island, Mrs. Irene Mattea and Dick of Fullerton, Mr. and Mrs. Thirlow Brown and Lois of Council Bluffs.
