She died at Stanton, Neb., April 19, 1936, aged 73 years, 10 months and 12 days, after an illness of about three months. Read More	DEMAREE, ELLA FRANCES—Ella Frances, youngest and last surviving member of the seven children of John and Rachel (Ryker) Yates, was born at Madison, Ind., June 7, 1862. She died at Stanton, Neb., April 19, 1936, aged 73 years, 10 months and 12 days, after an illness of about three months. In 1883 she came to Geneva, Neb., where she taught school for several years and it was here that she married Frank C. Demaree, February 21, 1888. They resided in Fillmore county until 1930, when they moved to Stanton, Neb., to be near their sons Harold and James, on account of the poor health of Mr. Demaree, who died December 26, 1933. The faithful, loving and happy care that she gave her husband during a long and unusually severe illness will be ever remembered by her Stanton friends as an evidence of a truly Christian character. After her husband's death, she resided with her children, and it was at the home of her son Harold, Sunday morning, that her soul passed peacefully from the home temporal to the home eternal. She came from a family of pioneers, her grandfather, Ryker being a soldier in the war of 1812, and one brother lost his life in the Civil War. Left to mourn their loss are her three sons, Halleck of Davenport, Neb., Harold of Stanton, James of Minneapolis, Kas., and one daughter, Elsie Swanson of Ohiowa, Neb., and ten grandchildren. She leaves a host of friends in her old home and many who came to know and love her during her few years in Stanton. We of this generation have no words to express the lessons of courage and steadfastness that we have learned from these fine old people who spent their youth and strong years in building our state into a place of peace and beauty. "On her lips was the law of kindness; Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates." A short service was held at the Harold Demaree home in Stanton at 2 p. m. Monday. The body was then taken to the home of Mrs. M. L. Swanson at Ohiowa, where a short service was held at 1:15 p .m. Tuesday. The funeral service was held at the Ohiowa Methodist church at 2 p. m. Tuesday. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal, April 23rd, 1936 page 5.
