Description	:	My grandmother Lottie Anderson Boyd was a sister of William H. Anderson's father William Edward Anderson who inherited the Double Branch Farm after A.B. Anderson's death. My grandparents moved from Halifax County to Nottoway County in 1921. The farm was sold years ago but William H. Anderson would drive from Richmond several times a year to maintain the cemetery, on May 25, 2000 I went with him to Halifax County to get information from the headstones. My grandparents moved from Halifax County to Nottoway County in 1921. The farm was sold years ago but William H. Anderson would drive from Richmond several times a year to maintain the cemetery, on May 25, 2000 I went with him to Halifax County to get information from the headstones. The cemetery originally had a wooden fence with a gate in the middle so that when you entered the cemetery the Anderson Family graves were on the right and the Wood family graves were on the left. It was replaced with a chain link fence later and the gate is now on one end near a corner. There was an unmarked adult and infant grave on the Wood side of the cemetery, William told me that when he was 7 -10 years old Oscar Carlton asked William's father if he could bury his mother in the cemetery but William didn't know why or who she was. In 2004 I found that Ella Josephine Wood was born abt.1855 and married 23 Dec.1878, James Cabel Carlton born 1851, in Halifax Co, (book 3, page 106). The 1880 Census shows them living next to Emeline Wood and Martha Wood and also A. B. Anderson and Sallie E. Wood, also states that Ella is deaf. I believe that Ella Josephine Wood is the daughter of William Wesley Wood and Emeline Sullivan and sister of Sallie E. Wood. They had a son named Oscar Wood Carlton born Oct 1884, plus other children. Her death would have been in the early 1920's. William was born in April 1916 and I have seen that Ella died in 1925. I gave this information to William and now there is a headstone on the adult grave. Updated, Ella's death again after seeing a copy her Death Certificate.
