Funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Union Mills cemetery. Mrs. J. C. Quillin Dies at Union Mills Funeral Tuesday Funeral was at the Union Mills church Tuesday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. J. C. Quillin, with service by the Rev Lloyd Tennant, her former pastor, now of North Liberty. Burial was in Union Mills cemetery. A solo was sung by Melvin Stutzman, “I Won’t Have to Cross Jordon Alone”; a duet by Marie Duffus and William Klinker, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Rock of Ages,” with Mrs. Ray Gerard at the piano. Pallbearers were Edward Lloyd, James Kisor, Ira Kisor, Neal DeJong, Andrew Burggraaf, and Walter Burggraaf. After several weeks of illness, Mrs. Quillin died Sunday at 8 p.m. Ella Kruse was born Dec. 20, 1880, at the Kruse home near What Cheer. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moritz Kruse. She spent most of her life on the farm of her parents. March 2, 1921, she was married to J. C. Quillin of Barnes City and spent her life on the farm near Union Mills. Surviving are: her husband and three step-children, Howard of New Sharon, Erma, now Mrs. Alvin Beatty of Newton, and J. Max of Newton; five grandchildren, Glen, Norma, Barbara, Charles, and Kay Marie; six brothers and sisters, Frank Kruse of Tilton, Carl Kruse of Thornburg, Mrs. John Zabilka of What Cheer, Mrs. A. S. Tanner of Rockford, Ill., Will Kruse of What Cheer, and Minnie Mae Kruse of What cheer. Her father and mother, brother, George, and sister Mary preceded her in death.
