Description	:	Mrs. Ella Lucinda Neill Linn was born near Corning, Adams County, Iowa, June 27, 1871 and passed away suddenly at her home in Des Moines, Saturday, January 10th, 1948 of a heart attack. Mrs. Linn's parents were pioneers of southwest Iowa. She was educated in the schools of Adams County and after attended the Corning Academy. Read More	Mrs. Ella Lucinda Neill Linn was born near Corning, Adams County, Iowa, June 27, 1871 and passed away suddenly at her home in Des Moines, Saturday, January 10th, 1948 of a heart attack. Mrs. Linn's parents were pioneers of southwest Iowa. She was educated in the schools of Adams County and after attended the Corning Academy. Prior to her marriage, she taught school for seven years and during those early days, salaries were as high as five dollars a week. On March 18, 1896, she was united in marriage to Francis Marion Linn at Villisca, Iowa. Four children were born to this union, all of whom, with the father, survive a loving and devoted mother. They are Ethrie B. Linn, Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Theon M. Broils, Des Moines, Ronald N. Linn, San Leandro, California, Mrs. Jessie Terry, Seattle, Washington; three sisters, Miss Dasy Neill, Red Oak, Mrs. A. V. Overman, Spokane, Washington, and Mrs. J. M. Taylor, Opportunity, Washington. Her brother E. J. Neill preceded her in death. Beside these immediate relatives, she leaves to mourn her passing, six grandchildren, Dorothy and Eugene Broils, David, Henry, and Mry Janice Linn, and Sharon Lee Terry, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. and Mrs. Linn moved to Des Moines 25 years ago, where they have enjoyed being near some of their children. Mrs. Linn has been in failing health for the past six years. Mrs. Linn was a member of the University Christian Church, converted in the United Brethren Church in January, 1888. Mrs. Linn loved music, loved to sing, and for many years in her early years, was organist in her home church. A great reader of the Bible, she faithfully followed its precepts. She found great delight in her church life and all its activities, and faithful in all as long as her health permitted. She loved doing things for others rather than having others do for her. So far as is known, her last act in life was wrapping a package as a gift for one of her grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, January 13th, at the Lilly Funeral Home in Des Moines, at 9 o'clock. Graveside services and burial services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Nodaway Cemetery, at one thirty o'clock, conducted by Rev. V. A. Bloomquist. Pall bearers were Frank Kennedy, Wm. Kennedy, Phil Kennedy, Floyd Neill, Harold Neill, and Vern Wilmarth. Mrs. Linn's sister, Mrs. A. V. Overman of Seattle, Washington, came to be present at the final rites. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Neill, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wilmarth, and Mrs. Nettie E. Neill, attended the services held in Des Moines, Tuesday morning, attending the deceased to her final resting place.
