Born in Gaffney, she was first married to the late John Charles Jennings and then the late Carl Dean Reaves and the daughter of the late Clarence Clayton Phillips and Augusta Allison Phillips. She was an avid bowler and a wonderful cook. Mrs. Reaves was retired from Belk and member of Cherokee Avenue, where she served in the nursery for 34 years. Surviving are a sister, Joann Hoyle and husband, Bruce of Rutherfordton; two step-daughters, Mary Ann Banks of Cummings, Ga. and Denise Sanstrom of Baton Rouge, La.; numerous nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Reaves was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Phillips, Dewey Phillips and J.B. Phillips; two sisters, Margaret Huskey and Grace Vinesett; and a step-son, Danny Reaves. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Clyde Thomas, Reverend Danny Phillips and Reverend Jack Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1449, Gaffney, S.C., 29342. The family will be at the home of her great-niece, Natalie and Joel Porter, 137 Sunset Drive.
