Born in Gaffney, S.C. she was the widow of the late Harley Joe Vinesett and daughter of the late Clarence Clayton Phillips and Augusta Allison Phillips. She retired from Oxford and Stouffers, a former Meals on Wheels volunteer, and member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Mike Vinesett and wife, Kay, of Gaffney; a daughter, Rita Scalf of Gaffney; three sisters, Margaret Huskey, Tootie Reaves, both of Gaffney, and Joann Hoyle and husband, Bruce of Rutherfordton, N.C.; five grandchildren, Natalie Porter and husband, Joel, Clay Vinesett, Heather Vinesett, Harley Scalf and Lee Scalf; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey Phillips, J. B. Phillips and Bobby Phillips, a son-in-law, Jerry Scalf, and two brothers-in-law, Luke Huskey and Carl Reaves. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Clyde Thomas, Rev. Danny Phillips and Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1449, Gaffney, S.C. 29342 or Meals on Wheels, P.O.
