Description	:	Mrs. Ella Richards, 85, died of complications incident to advanced age at 7:05 pm Tuesday at Woodlawn Convalescent home. The daughter of Daniel and Martha Bickel, she was born Nov. 26, 1867, at Giard. In December of 1889 she was married to Fred S. Richards at Giard. They made their home in McGregor. She came to Waterloo in September of 1952, and had been at the convalescent home since that time. She was a member of the Congregational Church of McGregor, White Shrine and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W. E.... The daughter of Daniel and Martha Bickel, she was born Nov. 26, 1867, at Giard. In December of 1889 she was married to Fred S. Richards at Giard. They made their home in McGregor. She came to Waterloo in September of 1952, and had been at the convalescent home since that time. She was a member of the Congregational Church of McGregor, White Shrine and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W. E. Gruver of 140 Linwood Ave.; Mrs. R.H. Farmer, Rigby, Ida., and Mrs. C.C. Stalnaker of Auburn, Ala.; two sons, D.F. Richards of Idaho Falls, Ida., and Neill of Wichita, Kan., also ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, three sisters and her husband, who died in 1937. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at the Congregational Church at McGregor. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. The body will be at Parrott & Wood funeral home until 9 am Friday. Waterloo Daily Courier May 13, 1953 page 2
