She was born Dec. 9, 1921, at Iola to Walter and Mary Gibson Looney. She grew up and attended school in Iola. She worked at Allen County Hospital for eight years and at Katy Hospital in Parsons from 1968 to 1983, when she retired as a nurse's aide. She was married to Neil Cole on Jan. 6, 1938. Read More	~~OBITUARY~~ THE IOLA REGISTER, TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2000 Ella Hamilton Ella Hamiilton, 78, formerly of Parsons, died today April 4, at Allen County Hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1921, at Iola to Walter and Mary Gibson Looney. She grew up and attended school in Iola. She worked at Allen County Hospital for eight years and at Katy Hospital in Parsons from 1968 to 1983, when she retired as a nurse's aide. She was married to Neil Cole on Jan. 6, 1938. They later divorced. She then married Robert L. Hamilton on Jan. 16, 1973, at Wichita. He died in 1983. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Bell of Wichita; a son, Steven Cole of Gas; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A brother and three children died earlier. Following cremation, a private family service will be held. Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
