The Hooper Sentinel March 1, 1956 Mrs. Ella Shippee Rites Tuesday Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Ella Shippee, 77, who passed away Saturday evening at the Dodge County Community Hospital in Fremont after a short illness. Rev. Mrs. C. V. Powell conducted the service and interment was in the family lot in Hooper Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence Carlson, Harold Kallenbach, Raymond Peters, Collins Mc Master, E. J. Mrs. Shippee was one of eight children born May 23, 1878 to Mr. and Mrs. William Rupert, which was one of the oldest families in Hooper. She attended school in Hooper and worked for several years in the Crisman Bakery. She married William Shippee of Norfolk and lived in Norfolk until his death about 15 years age, when she returned to Hooper. Among the survivors are a sister, Mrs. George Moyer (Minnie) of El Cajon, Calif., four nephews and three nieces and a number of great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shippee was possessed of an unfailing sense of humor and was a warm-hearted neighbor and loyal friend.
