Pioneer Paper) Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Boe, 56, wife of Mayor Harold S Boe, were held at the Lutheran church here Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Boe passed away at her home Saturday following a four-year illness of cancer. Rev. Wm. A. Smart, Ross Williams, Elmer Arneson. Clive Haas, Dick Armstrong and H. Ben Tetlie Music, "Lead, Kindly Light," and "The Lord's Prayer, was by Mrs. Ted C. Busha and Mrs. A. Ronald McDonnell, accompanied at the organ by E. O. Overland. Interment was in Mountain View. All business houses and the grade school were closed during the services. Born in Big Timber May 25, 1899, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Egeland, Mrs. Boe had resided here all her life. She attended the Big Timber grade and high schools and for some time was employed at the Golden Rule store, following her graduation from high school. She was married to Mr. Boe on June 17, 1920. She was a lifelong member of the Big Timber Lutheran church and a life member of the Women's Missionary Federation. She was a past chief of the Pythian Sisters, worthy matron of the Eastern Star and a member of the Billings chapter of the Daughters of the Nile and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Harold F. Boe of Miles City and John Boe of Big Timber; two sisters, Mrs. George Hauge and Mrs. Toby Osen, both of Big Timber, and six brothers, Rudolph Oscar, Hjalmer.
