Born in New Milford on June 13, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Daisy (Darling) Hendrix. Ellen was a loving wife and mother and was proud of her 40 years of marriage to her husband, Keith. She worked for many years at S.N.E.T. as a switchboard operator. Bickford of the Northville area of New Milford, CT, passed away on Sunday October 2, 2016 at her home at the age of 87. Born in New Milford on June 13, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Daisy (Darling) Hendrix. Ellen was a loving wife and mother and was proud of her 40 years of marriage to her husband, Keith. She worked for many years at S.N.E.T. as a switchboard operator. Also as a cafeteria cook and server in the New Milford school system. She especially loved children and people in general. Her smile won over many people. She loved camping, traveling and crafts. She was predeceased by two sisters Gloria Malumphy and Evelyn Marsh, a son Darryl Davis and stepdaughter Sheryl Bickford Turner. She leaves behind her husband Keith, one son Shawn Davis and his wife, Teri of LaHabra, CA. as well as a stepdaughter Dawn Dean and her husband Robert of New Milford, CT, three stepsons Ronald and David of New Milford, CT and Clinton and his wife, Sharon of Aiken S.C. She also leaves behind two brothers. There are also many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, aunts and uncles. She leaves behind two brothers, Lynn Hendrix of Washington, CT and Lowell Hendrix of Danbury, CT. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Chris Sakis will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT. Burial will follow at the Morningside Cemetery, Gaylordsville, CT. Calling hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to H.O.R.S.E. of CT at 43 Wilbur Rd. Washington, CT and VNA Hospice of New Milford 68 Park Lane Rd. New Milford, CT
