And Delilah Fenner Moberly, was born Jan. 8, 1833, and passed away August 29, 1921, aged 88 years, 7 months and 21 days. And Delilah Fenner Moberly, was born Jan. 8, 1833, and passed away August 29, 1921, aged 88 years, 7 months and 21 days. She was one of a family of six children, all of whom with the exception of one sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Nevin, having preceded her to the better land. When only four years of age her mother died, and she was left to the care of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Trop, in whose home she was nurtured through childhood, guarded, sheltered and loved as a daughter, as she grew and blossomed into womanhood. On March 10th, 1853 she was united in marriage to Henry Hiestand, and together they lived lives of happiness and industry for almost half a century when on April 11, 1898, he was taken from her and she was left to travel life’s journey alone. This union was blessed with a son and daughter, John H. and Orissa B. Ervin, both of whom with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren survive her. Five grandchildren have preceded her. In early childhood she affiliated herself with the United Brethren Church at Ambrose Chapel, but after marriage she preferred to worship with her husband, thereby transferring her membership to the Methodist church at Brouse Chapel. She was a living exemplary of a beautiful Christian character. . . .For the last four years she has made her home with the daughter. On June 15, 1920, having been overcome with heart failure, she suffered a fall which invalided her. During the long illness she was resolutely bright and considerate, taking thought for the comfort of those caring for her and giving as little trouble as she could, gradually growing weaker each day, until on Friday evening she lapsed into unconsciousness from which she never rallied. . .
