Description	:	Unknown Hillsboro newspaper, April 1898 Henry Hiestand was born on the waters of Rocky Fork, four miles east of Hillsboro, October 11th, 1824. He was reared upon the farm and his life was a life of industry, toil and labor. On December 30th, 1847 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Bonwell. This union was somewhat of short duration, she dying in May, 1852. He afterwards married Miss Ellen Moberley. Of this union there were two children, John H. Hiestand and Orisso [Orissa] B. Ervin. He was reared upon the farm and his life was a life of industry, toil and labor. On December 30th, 1847 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Bonwell. This union was somewhat of short duration, she dying in May, 1852. He afterwards married Miss Ellen Moberley. Of this union there were two children, John H. Hiestand and Orisso [Orissa] B. Ervin. Sometime in the latter part of August, 1842 he attended a camp meeting one mile east of Hillsboro, was convicted and afterward was powerfully converted, after which he united with the M. E. Church. He remained a consistent member of the same during life. Having filled various offices or positions in the church as class leader, steward, trustee, and Sunday School superintendent, verily, he was a zealous worker in his Master’s vineyard. It seemed as he advanced in years the more he loved God’s house and his Master’s cause. Sunday morning, April 3rd, he took sick, went to see the doctor, and came home suffering intensely. During the nine days of sickness, seldom men ever suffered as he did, and never man bore up with that resignation as he did. . . .He leaves behind him his beloved companion, two children, John H. and Orisso [Orissa] B., eight grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, with quite a number of friends and relatives to mourn his loss. . .
