Read More	EWALT, ELLEN NORA—Ellen Nora, daughter of Thomas A. and Susan Jane Huston, was born July 10, 1865 at Pana, Ill. She died at Geneva, Neb., April 17, 1933, at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 7 days. A little more than fifty years ago, as a girl of seventeen, she came with her parents to Nebraska, settling with them on the farm one and one-half miles south of Geneva. She was married to Albert Ewalt July 10, 1888, on her twenty-third birthday. To this union were born a daughter, Susie, Mrs. Neal Tucker of Geneva, and a son, Thomas Huston Ewalt, both of whom, with their father, survive their mother, together with a little grandson, Robert Lee Ewalt; also a brother, Lee Huston, with many other relatives and friends. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Ewalt took up their residence at Geneva, where, with the exception of a residence of five years at Sioux City, they have since resided. Their residence at Geneva covers a period of nearly forty years and that of Mrs. Ewalt in the state and Fillmore county more than fifty years. Nine or ten years ago Mrs. Ewalt's health began to give way and about four years ago she suffered a stroke from which she never entirely recovered. The past winter her failure in health was more noticeable and about February 1 she was compelled to take to her bed, from which she did not rise. Everything was done that could be done and she was tenderly cared for by her loved ones. Last Monday evening about 10 o'clock, surrounded by her loved ones and a few intimate friends, with a smile upon her lips and a heavenly light in her eyes, she passed so beautifully, peacefully "over the river" that the gentle dip of the oars of the "Boatman" could almost be heard. A splendid, devoted wife and mother, "the best mother anyone ever had," her children say, a good neighbor and friend, and a humble follower of Jesus has closed her eyes to earth scenes and opened them in a better and brighter world beyond. She was converted early in life and soon after settling at Geneva, with her husband, united by letter with the Methodist church here. She rests sweetly from her labors, while precious memories of her self-sacrificing and useful life linger with loved ones and friends. The funeral services were conducted from her late home in Geneva, Thursday afternoon, April 20, at 2:30 by her pastor, Rev. W. H. Shoaf, assisted by Rev. David Tudor, an intimate friend. Scripture passages read were the twenty-third Psalm and Rev. 1:1 to 14. The banks of beautiful flowers bore mute tribute to the love and esteem in which she was held by a large circle of loved ones and friends. The casket bearers were Fred Ford, Russell Walker, John Little, Dr. L. H. Warner, Lyman Brooke and M. E. Barker. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal, April 27th, 1933 page 1.
