Description	:	Ellen Monson, 86, Everest, died Tuesday at a hospital in Horton. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Maple-Chaney Mortuary, Horton. Burial will be at Muscotah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8 to 9 this evening at the mortuary. Mrs. Monson was born Nov. 12, 1898, at Everest, the daughter of John and Ella Rork Eyer. She spent most of her life in the Everest and Muscotah communities. She was a member of the Everest United Methodist Church, the W.S.C.S. of the church, and the Friendship Club of Everest. she was a 50 year member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a homemaker and married Martin Monson on Jan. 10, 1918, at Atchison. He preceeded her in death July 30, 1980. She was also preceeded in death by a son, Robert "Bob" Monson on Sept. 21, 1979. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Fassnacht, Muscotah and Gladys Helmstetter, Severance; a sister, Ruth Kimmi, Horton; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
