He was born in Funkstown and was a son of Charles Edward and Lily Dick Duffey. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, where he taught a Sunday School class and served as a deacon. He was a past member of the Town Council of Funkstown, where he had served for about 20 years, and had managed several baseball teams in the Independent League of Washington County. He was born in Funkstown and was a son of Charles Edward and Lily Dick Duffey. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, where he taught a Sunday School class and served as a deacon. He was a past member of the Town Council of Funkstown, where he had served for about 20 years, and had managed several baseball teams in the Independent League of Washington County. He was employed by Snavely Silo Company of Landisville, Pa. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Jane Harshman Duffey; daughters, Mrs. Eloise Miller of Anniville, Pa., Mrs. Miriam Beard of Boonsboro, Mrs. Barbara Starliper of Hagerstown; sons Ellis G. Jr. and David F. both of Hagerstown; sisters Mrs. Preston Spahr of Chambersburg, Pa, Mrs. Joseph Palmer of Bloomfield, N.J.; brothers, Richard and Lewis both of Funkstown & Robert of Hagerstown; 17 grandchildren. Services will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home on Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Beaver Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Washington County Heart Fund. Obituary in the Herald Mail 20 September 1968
