Description	:	ELLISON W. "SLIM" BOSE Ellison Wilber Bose was born January 12, 1910 at Otoe, Nebraska, one of five children born to Luther and Mary Lenker Bose. He grew up in the Otoe Community where he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and attended the School at nearby Dunbar, Nebraska. "SLIM" BOSE Ellison Wilber Bose was born January 12, 1910 at Otoe, Nebraska, one of five children born to Luther and Mary Lenker Bose. He grew up in the Otoe Community where he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and attended the School at nearby Dunbar, Nebraska. ON August 8, 1938, Ellison was united in marriage with Mary Moore at Rock Port, Missouri. Following their marriage they made their home in Essex and to this union four sons and three daughters were born. He was employed a number of years by Stanley Concrete Company until his retirement in 1972. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sons, Jackie and Richard; two brother Frank and Floyd, and one granddaughter, Sherri Bose. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Essex; two sons, Harold "Junior" Bose of Council Bluffs; Robert Bose of Essex; three daughters, Gerry, Mrs. Richard Morrison of Loveland, Colorado; Kathy, Mrs. Jerry Stanbrough, and Cheryl, Mrs. Ted Houser, both of Essex. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ross Metzger of Denver, Colorado and Helen, Mrs. William Metzger of Syracuse, Nebraska; and a number of other relatives. Ellison died Wednesday, April 18, 1981 at the Grape Hospital in Hamburg. He was 71 years of age. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 18, 1981 at the United Presbyterian Church, Essex, Iowa, Rev. Robert D. Bartlett officiated. Mrs. Jack Allumbaugh was the organist. The vocal trio was composed of Jim Bengtson, Joe Bengtson, and John Bengtson. Caring for flowers were Mrs. Betty Bengtson and Mrs. Marion Lembke. The memory register was attended by Mrs. Wayne Glassinger. Ushers were Sam Bengtson and Dale Black. Casket bearers were Larry Bose, Michael Bose, Orville Marsh, Michael Morrison, Gene Sederburg, and Kim Stanbrough. Interment was in the Essex Cemetery, Essex, Iowa.
