Description	:	Elmer Bradey of 102 Skyuka Circle, Landrum, SC, died November 12, 2007. He was born in Landrum, SC, February 7, 1918, the son of the late Oscar T. Bradey and Nellie Carruth Bradey. He graduated from Landrum High School in 1935, where he was a charter member of the National Beta Club. He attended Clemson College. He was first married to the late Sadie McAbee Bradey for fifty five years. Their son, Alan and wife Barbara live in Lexington, SC. Read More	Elmer Bradey of 102 Skyuka Circle, Landrum, SC, died November 12, 2007. He was born in Landrum, SC, February 7, 1918, the son of the late Oscar T. Bradey and Nellie Carruth Bradey. He graduated from Landrum High School in 1935, where he was a charter member of the National Beta Club. He attended Clemson College. He was first married to the late Sadie McAbee Bradey for fifty five years. Their son, Alan and wife Barbara live in Lexington, SC. He is also survived by his wife, Helen Mills Bradey of the home; three brothers, Reverend Homer Bradey of Hickory, NC, Hugh "Whitey" Bradey and Bill Bradey and wife Magdalene of Landrum; a sister, Grace Broome of Landrum; a half brother, Loran Bradey and half sister, Beth and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Nelle Lee. He entered the Army in 1942 and graduated Coast Artillery Officers School in 1943. He transferred to the transportation corps and served on the Ledo Road in India, Burma and China during WWII. He served in the Army Occupation in Munich, Germany from 1948-1952. After returning to the US, he was assigned to Korea during the draw down of US troops and material (1954-44). He was assigned to duty in the Republic of Germany (1957-59). He was awarded the Army Commendation medal for meritorious service during this period. He was on the selected list for promotion to Lt. Colonel at time of retirement for disabliity. He was employed by E.L. Broome and Sons from 1970 to retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Landrum Presbyterian Church where he was an ordained Elder. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Wednesday at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday at Landrum Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Military Rites.
