Elmer was a... Read More	Elmer E. Hornback, 93, died on June 28, 2020 at his home in Monticello, IN. He was born on July 10, 1926 in Louisville, KY to the late David C. Hornback Sr and Mary M. (Haycraft) Hornback. On October 10, 1948 in Monticello, IN, he married C. June Swartz; she passed away on January 28, 2019. Elmer was raised in White County, IN. He went into United States Army and served during World War II. Elmer returned home and started working in construction building bridges with family. He also owned several local bars and restaurants. Elmer was a member of the Libanus Lodge F.&A.M. #154, the American Legion Post #81, AmVets Post #91, and the VFW Post #2231. all of Monticello. He also was a 45+ year member of the Scottish Rite Valley. Elmer was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the course. He was a busy guy and was always building or fixing things. Elmer is survived by two children; one daughter-in-law; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son Brad Hornback; son-in-law, Dave Strahlem; grandson, Seth Hanni; three brothers - Willard, Russell, and David Hornback; four sisters - Barbara Hornback, Annabell Hornback, Shirley Sickler and Stella Seward; and several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home on July 3, 2020 with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating. Burial with full military rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard will be at IOOF Riverview Cemetery.
