Jeffres, 79, a Greeley farmer, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Greeley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Miller, pastor, officiating. Visitation hours will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the T. J. Finn Funeral Home in Greeley. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:30 p.m. Saturday until time of the service. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery in Greeley. Mr. Jeffres died Thursday morning in a Grand Island hospital. He was born May 3, 1891, on a farm in the Horace community, the son of George and Kate Benson Jeffres. He attended Horace School, Greeley Public School and Central City Business College. Part of his early manhood was spent in Idaho and Washington. In 1913 he returned to farm in the Greeley area. On June 1, 1918, at North Loup, he was married to Hazel I. Romine. They lived their married life on a farm near Greeley until 1955, when they moved to Greeley. Mrs. Jeffres died in 1967. Mr. Jeffres was a member of the NFO and the Greeley Wranglers Saddle Club since its organization many years ago. Survivors include a son, Harold of Greeley; three grandchildren, an uncle, William Benson of Ord and a sister, Mrs. Cora Hurley of Denver. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister and a brother.
