Description	:	Elmer F. Haskin, 87, died Tuesday, Jan, 2 at his home, apparently of a heart attack. He was found by neighbors after he had shoveled some snow during the afternoon. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Theo Krumrey, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews. Elmer F. Haskin was born Feb. 8, 1880 in a log cabin in Antelope County, north of Royal, a son of Wallis and Maria Sophia Brandt Haskin. He attended the Mars school. On June 10, 1910 he married Wilhelmina Schultz at Scribner. Two children were born to them. On July 11, 1917 he married Bertha Schultz at Center and five children were born to them. He spent his entire life in Antelope and Knox counties, expect for a year in 1896, when his parents lived in the Ozarks. He was a farmer and for several years lived on a farm northwest of Creighton. He moved into Creighton a few years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had served as a trustee. Following the death of his second wife in 1951, he took up several hobbies, which gave him a great deal of pleasure. He started making quilts--from doll to baby to full size--most of which he gave away. This, in turn, led to correspondence with many pen pals. He also enjoyed gardening and raising flowers, most of which, he also gave away. Surviving are five children, Karl W. of Cedar Falls, Ia., Mrs. George B. (Helene) Hansen of Wausa, Mrs. Edwin (Ruth) Hospodarsky of LaPorte City, Ia., Mrs. Wm. (Irene) Frank of Verdigre and Raymond C of Elgin; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Julius Haskin of Ft. Laramie, Wyo. and William B. Haskin of Royal; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Raff of Plainview and Mrs. Eva Raff of Creighton. Preceding him in death were his wives; a daughter, Margaret, who died at the age of five; a son, Edwin, who died in 1959; one granddaughter; his parents; three sisters and four brothers.
