Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville. Burial will be in the church cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 137, of Dyersville. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m., a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6 p.m. and an American Legion Post 137 service at 8 p.m. Mr. Tegeler, who lived all of his life in Dyersville, owned and operated Tegeler Radiator Service since 1952. He was born on May 7, 1924, in Dyersville, son of Gerhardt and Rosa (Kerkhoff) Tegeler. He married LaVonne Burkle Koopmann on May 30, 1967. He was a graduate of St. Francis High School and served in the Marine Corps in World War II. Elmer was a member of St. Francis Parish; a 50-year member of the American Legion Post 137; and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1734. Surviving are his wife, LaVonne; a stepdaughter, Karen (Koopmann) Parrish, of Boulder, Colo.; two stepsons, Kenneth Koopmann, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Robert Koopmann, of Los Angeles; an adopted son, Kory Tegeler, of Boulder; a granddaughter, Cassidy Koopmann, of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Earl Tegeler and Herbert G. Tegeler, both of Dyersville; and two sisters, Alma Manley, of Washington, D.C., and Edna Madison, of Miami, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William B. Tegeler.
