Description	:	Obituary - Connersville - Elmer Hollenback, 89, Woodbine Dr., died Monday Nov 11, 1996 at Fayette Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in failing health for several months and had resided at Lincoln Center East. He was born July 12, 1907 in Hamilton Co., Ohio to Christ and Kathryn Rheam Hollenbach. Read More	Obituary - Connersville - Elmer Hollenback, 89, Woodbine Dr., died Monday Nov 11, 1996 at Fayette Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in failing health for several months and had resided at Lincoln Center East. He was born July 12, 1907 in Hamilton Co., Ohio to Christ and Kathryn Rheam Hollenbach. He was a graduate in Brookville High School. He attended the Lutheran Church in Brookville. He retired from the Indiana State Police in Connersville, as a lieutenant, after 30 years of employment. He began working with the Indiana State Police in 1933 in Rushville and was one of the first patrolmen to be assigned to motorcycle duty. He was later assigned to the Versailles Post. Following his retirement, he worked as a sanitarian with the Fayette County Health Department. He was a member of the Brookville Masonic Lodge and a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 1160 of Connersville. Survivors include his wife, Laura LaVaughn Riebsomer Hollenbach, whom he married June 30, 1956 in Connersville; a daughter Kathryn Ann Mahaffey of Philadelphia, PA; a brother John Hollebach of Cincinnati, OH; a granddaughter, nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 am Thursday Nov 14, at Showalter Funeral Home, Myers Chapel. The Rev. Dan McCollough of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville, where memorial services will be conducted by the Indiana State Police. Friends may call for 5-8 today, Nov 13, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, or the Fayette Country Heart Fund.
