Description	:	Elmer J. Borgelt, of Battle Creek, Nebraska died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Community Pride Care Center. Elmer was born September 10, 1914 on a farm northwest of Tilden in Antelope County, Nebraska. Roy was the son of August and Anna (Geissel) Borgelt. Roy attended parochial school through 6th grade and then he went to rural school. Borgelt, of Battle Creek, Nebraska died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Community Pride Care Center. Elmer was born September 10, 1914 on a farm northwest of Tilden in Antelope County, Nebraska. Roy was the son of August and Anna (Geissel) Borgelt. Roy attended parochial school through 6th grade and then he went to rural school. After working on the family farm for several years, Elmer moved to Northfield, Minnesota for three years and worked on a dairy farm. Elmer moved back to Battle Creek, Nebraska where he operated his own livestock hauling business. During this time he met and married Irene Pearl Henseleit on May 1, 1955 at Grace Lutheran Church, Neligh, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Battle Creek, Nebraska and he worked for Gerhold Concrete Company and then for Mormon Feed Company before driving for many years for the Battle Creek (NE.) Co-op until retiring. After his retirement he drove grain trucks for area farmers during harvest. He enjoyed doing things for his family with his hands and especially loved spending time with his grandson Cody. Elmer is survived by: daughter, Ardith Borgelt; son, Gary and his wife, Deb Borgelt and their son, Cody all of Battle Creek, Nebraska; brother, Lawrence Borgelt of North Platte, Nebraska; sister in-law Esther Henseleit of Tilden, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Roy was preceded in death by: wife, Irene Pearl Borgelt in 1982; parents; seven brothers and five sisters. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Battle Creek, Nebraska.
