The Leavenworth Echo - Apr 17, 1914 The funeral of Elmer McKinney was held Monday in the Cathlic church at Leavenworth, Father VandeWalle conducted the services. A large number of friends attended from this place. Mr. McKinney was born in the year of 1871 in the state of Illinois and later came to South Dakota, where he was married to Mary Burns, of Miller, S. D. On leaving that state they came to Washington and located on a farm up the Peshastin creek, where they have been residing for about one year. Mr. McKinney was 43 years old and leaves to mourn his death a wife and one child besides several other relatives who live in South Dakota. Burial took place in the Peshastin cemetery.
