He was born in Hillsboro on Nov. 25, 1909, the son of Jacob Csper Hedges and Bertha Thoroughman Hedges. He was an interior decorator and finisher and had worked at this occupation throughout the area for many years. He was born in Hillsboro on Nov. 25, 1909, the son of Jacob Csper Hedges and Bertha Thoroughman Hedges. He was an interior decorator and finisher and had worked at this occupation throughout the area for many years. He had been a member of the Hillsboro Elks Lodge for 35 years and was a past exalted ruler. He served several years on the Hillsboro Board of Education at the time new elementary schools were being built in the mid-1950s. He is survived by his wife, Ursula; three sons, Phillip, Mansfield, David, New York City, and Larry, Hillsboro; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Hedges, Hillsboro; one brother, Aulbin Hedges, Hillsboro; and four grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Rhoads Funeral Home, with the Rev. H.B. Shiltz officiating and burial following in Hillsboro Cemetery. Elks services were to be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call any time after 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
