Minnie Brockhohn, Monticello, died May 14 at the Senior Home in Monticello, after an extended illness. Elminnie Gesine Brockhohn was born Nov. 18, 1895, in Lovell Township, te daughter of Tjark and Johanna Remmers Schmidt Kray. She received her education at the Langworthy school. Minnie Kray and Herman D. Brockhohn were married Dec. 8, 1915. The couple farmed in Cass Township, and near Amber and Monticello, before purchasing a farm near Scotch Grove. In 1951 they moved to Monticello, and retired from farming in 1953. Herman died Dec. 25, 1956. Minnie continued to make her home in Monticello, were she worked at John McDonald Hospital. Her health caused her to move to the Senior Home in 1978. Minnie was a member of St.Matthew’s Lutheran Church. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on 4 Jan. 1896 and confirmed on March 20, 1910, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. Minnie is survived by two daughters, Berdena Darrow of Monticello and Irene Brockhohn of Ann Arbor, Mich.; three sons, Lawrence Brockhohn, Monticello; Alvin Brockhohn, Cedar Rapids, and Ernest Brockhohn of Whittier; 11 grandchildren; three great-step grandchildren, a sister Margaret Lorenzen of Cedar Rapids; a half-brother, Martin Smith of North Branch, Minn. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, two grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers. Casketbearers were William Brockhohn, Richard Brockhohn, Robert Brockhohn, James Brockhohn, Michael Ehlinger, Larry Brockhohn, Allen Brockhohn, Herman Darrow and Ronald Ehrle.
